About the Rector

In the Spring of 2021, the search committee of St. Paul’s called Fr. Shane Spellmeyer to serve as our new rector.  Fr. Spellmeyer celebrated his first Eucharist at St. Paul’s Church on July 4th, 2021. 

Fr. Shane was born on the Gulf Coast of Florida, grew up in the Quad Cities (Illinois), studied Cultural Anthropology at Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville), and studied for his Master of Divinity degree at Nashotah House Theological Seminary.  He was ordained to the diaconate in March of 2019 by Bishop Daniel H. Martins (Diocese of Springfield), and was ordained a priest in October of 2019. 

While Fr. Shane is, in many ways, still a very “green” priest, he is passionate in his love for Jesus Christ and for God’s Holy Church, and he is excited to welcome you to St. Paul’s Church.
